I have a habit of buying a new devotional book at the start of each year and abandoning it by February. Unlike the others tucked away on a distant bookshelf, these three books have earned their permanent place on my desk, there in a moment's reach for inspiration and peace.
1.I found this gem at Wal Mart and recommend it for anyone who wants to read through the entire Bible in an orderly and easy way. Each page has a short reflection, a quotation from scripture, quotations from famous Christians and a "Timely Tip" at the end of the page. At the top of each page is "Today's Bible Reading" which includes a chapter from the Old Testament and from the New Testament. Easy!
2. If you want the shortest possible devotional that still packs a lot of punch try Small Steps for Catholic Moms by Danielle Bean and Elizabeth Foss. Each day contains three small entries under the categories: Think, Act, Pray. There is a companion website here that has more resources as well.
3.I know I have mentioned this beautiful devotional here before but now it has an APP for your iPhone or iPad. Best of all, they offer a FREE Lite Version. I liked this book so much that I gave it as a gift to many people last Christmas.

Day 1 {the kick-off}
Day 2 {linky parties}
Day 3 {podcasts}
Day 4 {daily devotionals}

What are your favorite daily devotionals? I can always use a new one!

I love these suggestions! Having them in a moment's reach for inspiration... love that thought! Thanks for sharing Misty!
ReplyDeleteHi Misty, you have a lovely blog. I found an old one which talked about a refreshing red wine drink which brought me to this later blog. Now that I have found your blog, I am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris
